1995
Prior to the official establishment of the brand, the founding family had practiced the craft of handcrafted luggage-making for generations, with the time-honored artisanal techniques passed down quietly within the clan for decades. In their modest family workshop, they steadfastly abided by the most authentic artisan tenets. In that era, devoid of sophisticated machinery, every manufacturing process hinged entirely on the hands-on intuition and accumulated experience of the craftsmen.
In those years, the family workshop operated on a small-scale production model, with its creations primarily circulated via personal referrals or supplied to niche local retailers. Nevertheless, these handcrafted luggage pieces garnered a stellar reputation over time, owing to their exquisite workmanship, exceptional durability and understated yet elegant design aesthetics.
In 1995, building on the profound heritage of the family's artisanal craft, the founder officially registered and launched the BOPAI brand. This pivotal move transformed the original family workshop into a standardized production facility, marking the brand’s transformative journey from a purveyor of artisanal craftsmanship to a professional brand operator.

1998
In 1998, boosted by growing market demand from our strong reputation, we expanded production and set up a professional design team. The team optimized and upgraded products by integrating contemporary fashion trends with consumer usage scenarios. Our product range has evolved from the original genuine leather men’s belts, wallets, briefcases and women’s handbags to professional business backpacks, travel bags and children’s backpacks, and now ergonomic school backpacks. We have always stuck to the core demands of durability and practicality, and incorporated a simple and grand style into our designs, balancing functionality and aesthetics perfectly.

2003
In 2003, BOPAI officially entered the European market. With unwavering confidence in its artisanal craftsmanship and quality, the brand focused strategically on the European high-end backpack segment. A hub for the world’s top luggage brands, the European high-end market saw intense competition back then. By retaining the core family artisanal skills and conducting in-depth research into European consumers’ usage habits and fashion tastes, BOPAI optimized backpack patterns, suspension systems and fine craftsmanship. Upholding its hallmark practicality and durability while incorporating the minimalist style favored in Europe, the brand successfully gained a firm foothold in the European backpack market.

2016
In 2016, BOPAI embarked on global expansion with two core strategies. On one hand, it forged in-depth partnerships with top local luggage companies and established offline studios. Leveraging partners’ local resources and channel strengths, the brand got closer to overseas markets, accurately captured regional consumer needs, optimized product iteration and localized services, and brought the artisanal quality of handcrafted luggage to more offline buyers. On the other hand, keeping pace with digital consumption trends, BOPAI strongly launched on major cross-border e-commerce platforms including Amazon and AliExpress, building a global online sales network to break geographical barriers. Its products thus reached North America, the UAE, India, Japan, Australia and other countries and regions. During this period, the brand collaborated with premium automotive brands like Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini to release co-branded backpacks.

2019
In 2019, backed by a stable supply chain and mature craftsmanship system, BOPAI became a core partner of numerous global luggage sellers. Its products extended beyond self-operated offline studios and online channels to physical luggage stores worldwide—found in European high-end boutiques and major luggage retailers in North America, the UAE, Japan, Australia and other regions. This further boosted the brand’s market penetration and global recognition. With an expanding customer base and growing genuine usage feedback, BOPAI accelerated product innovation, upgrades and iteration, delivering high-quality products that better align with market demands.

2025
While solidifying its existing global market share, BOPAI is focusing strategically on the high-potential South American market to launch a new phase of in-depth global expansion. In 2024, the brand continued partnering with top local luggage sellers across South America. In mid-2025, BOPAI officially entered into a deep collaboration with a leading Colombian manufacturer. Leveraging the partner’s local production resources, supply chain strengths and market insights, the brand is further optimizing product delivery efficiency and local adaptation in South America, driving the deeper and broader expansion of its regional business.
